yoshi box or powercommander
 

the other friday i had my bike remapped and 13 rolling roads, it cost me £40 all together which i thought was good. but the guy that set it up said he couldn't get the top end in the final gear right because he couldn't get enough fuel in it was beyond the settings of the yoshi box and recomended a powercommander, but the guy still did a good job of remapping my bike. (my bike has a race renegade exhaust and air kit.)

just a little conclusion from what i learnt, the yoshi box is good if you want a remap if you got a aftermarket exhaust and still have the air box on, but isn't that good if you got rid of your air box and replaced it with a air filter sock like i did so now i've got to make up my mind if i should put my air box back on and get it set up right or go out and get a powercommander but i don't know if the cost of the powercommander is worth the power gain.

also if i can work it out i'll try and scan a picture off my dyno print out.

Glad you got a better set up but will have to disgree with you about it not being good as you suggest. A number of the MiniTwin race bikes have got a good set up from a Yoshi box all the way through the rev range. You will get an even better set up with a Teka box though :D

At what point in the rev range were you having problems? It is worth noting that some batches of bikes will rev on for a 1000 rpm above the majority. This seems to be due to the way different batches of bikes have implemented their rev limiter. Regardless of the mechanism the standard ECU will not allow you to alter the fuelling above the standard 10400 rpm limit, even if your bike does actually rev on until 11400 rpm.

Also not that different ECUs seem to allow you to adjust the fuelling to different levels. You may have one of them but should be able to get the fuelling to a reasonable level. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it but having played with a Teka box the ECU just starts to ignore the settings byond a certain level on some bikes.

I cannot see how a Power Commander can help in this case as the ECU actually cuts the fuelling so adding a little more or less really won't help you (unless I've misunderstood how the PC interacts with the ECU).

my bike does rev on to 11400rpm but the guy just warned me not to have my throttle pinned for to long on a motorway cause he couldn't get enought fuel in at the top end and it could protentional damage the engine.
i got told by the guy at my local dyno centre that the yoshi can only give a ajustment of 10% but with a powercommander you can get a 30% ajustment.
i'm going to get a powercommander to find out if it is worth it .

Will be interested to see whether a PC can actually override the ECU which has actually cut the fuel above 10400 rpm.

Hmmmm :? ---- RE PC111 - all the maps that are available downloadable from Power Commander including user submitted versions reduce the fuelling at the top end.

Would think by 11,400 you are way past the power peak and needlessly overevving the engine.

As the ECU has cut the fuel most of the bikes I've seen that rev on the extra 1000 rpm have the power drop from 70 hp to less than 50 hp in that time and that's on full throttle!

Teka Fueling Adjuster
 

Just had a trawl on't web and read up on the Teka box, seems like a really good bit of kit - why don't we hear more about them in the press? I'm tempted to get my GSXR600K4 done as it feels a bit lean at the top or should I jump and shell out for a power commander, can I revert to stock once the ECU has been Teka'd? Anybody know the answers (Mike1234)

My K4 Gixer 600 has been remapped on a Yoshi box, +5, +5, +10 and it flies, although you do get the odd backfire and pops alot on overun. I have a BMC air filter and an Akrapovic race can.
