London Roads Today...
I only have a couple of miles commute through London every day, maybe 2 or 3 miles.
The roads were noticeably quieter today, a distinct lack of cars and delivery vans coming through Rosebery, Holborn and Soho. However, those that were on the road, were clearly not used to driving in London, or didn't know where they were going. Obviously lots of people have, despite advice to the contrary, decided to come into London today - either by driving their own car, or digging out their motorbike (yes, a couple of guys to whom the concept of "filtering" was new). Did anyone else have similar experiences? |
Huh? Vauxhall Bridge was rammed. Been a while since I did some filtering work so I was a bit wobbly. Frustrating after all those lovely N roads in France last weekend.
|
Yes, I noticed this two.
I took my gf to work and noticed quite a few 'new' bikes out there many more with pillions. A few shiny Harley's attempting to filter. Also agree that there were a lot of numpty out there. Edgeware road was rammed as always so people aren't exactly avoiding the area. JG |
can i take it that there will be a diversion round the edgware road station then??
|
More pillions than usual, a couple of Harleys/Chrome mobiles other than that, quiet, but busy getting closer to london.

I wish my morning comute was this easy everyday
I had a fella on a bike in front of me who wasnt at all confident about filtering but clearly feeling the pressure from me to get on with it. He actually pulled into a gap in front of a car and waved me politely by. |

*sigh* back in UK :( |
cool, if i come in tonight i may take my normal route then, which takes me right passed the Edgware Road Station...

Apparently the congestion charge has been waived today. Was expecting hell-on-earth this morning but it was the quietest I've seen it.
Several inexperienced drivers around though. |
