Dealers

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new SV650s and am looking for a good dealer as close as possible to where I live (Reading, Berks). There seems to be a distinct lack of Suzuki dealers around this area. There is Best of Bikes in Newbury, but I've been told by a few people to steer clear of them. I have had one recommendation of Steve Jordan motorcycles in Leatherhead, Surrey, and have also seen of Trevor Goodall motorcycles in Didcot. Has anyone here used either of these dealers and have they got anything, good or bad to say about them? What sort of discount did you get from them, what accessories can/will they fit (e.g. R&G crashbungs, Scottoiler, heated grips etc) and what sort of discount could I expect to get on accessories/fitting?

I know it shouldn't really make any difference where I get it from, but it does to me! :-)

Many thanks

Well...cough..erm..cough...We (steve jordans)can supply the bike for £4199 on the 0% finance for the £1 deposit..we supply and fit the R&g's for £69.99 (free fitting worth half an hour), we can also supply and fit the scottoiler, lowers..etc etc..we normally do free fitting on items as it actually gives you more off rather than giving you discount on the goods and then charging for fitting..mind it is always best to speak to our salesman to make sure.

We have a demo bike available but must have had licence for more than a year (our insurance company states this and we can get it changed) and free use of loan bike when yours is in for service.

Ta!

Although SV650racer is advertising a bit, I'd personally not have any qualms about going there and think you'll most likely get better treatment at Steve Jordans than most other places. Sometimes it's worth travelling a little in order to get what you want and avoid some of the horror stories we've heard about in the past concerning local dealers.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, both of you, tho as pointed out, one of you may be a little biased :-)
I kind of wondered if I'd get a reply from either of the dealers I mentioned, but it's good to get an independent response as well (unless you're going to tell me your full name is Mr Jonboy Jordan... :-D).
I appreciate your honesty SV650Racer - looks a good deal to me.
And Jonboy, I wholly concur with your comment about making a little bit more effort for somewhere which is reputable.

Best get myself sorted out and decide colour etc. I think probably blue (he says out loud, to no one in particular).

Thanks

I have heared nothing but good stuff about Steve Jordan's also, and Joe is a handy guy to know as well..

You could also look at West London Suzuki, based in Bedfont (near Heathrow) who I often use as they are so close. George White Suzuki are in Slough, which is another option you have.
