can you get your knee down (even if it makes you slower)

hi people

i have read endless chat about getting your knee down, the good points, bad point, dangers etc

i was wondering how many people actually can

be honest :)

Not willing to try it yet. Still building my confidence in general.

I'm not willing to try it, because:

1) I honestly can't see that it's advantageous.
2) This belief is re-enforced by the fact that the police will try and do you for Without Due Care and Attention if they see you.
3) I haven't got any sliders on my leather trousers and really don't fancy having a big whole in the knee.
4) I value my kneecaps.
5) I'm fast enough baby!

Managed it on the track, not done it on the road.

Yes, Right knee down at will on roundabouts left knee down occasionally exiting them. Pegsa re down and the knee is just stuck out, not hanging off.

Never had the knee down on the open road just don't feel comfortable going that quickly

Oh yeah and have crashed whilst doing so and it hurts.

Is it faster? no, is it slower? no but I again I am not talking about gorilla hanging off technique.

Always wanted to know what it's like, but even with chicken strips 1/4 inch on the front and 1/2 inch on the rear I've never got close to my knees touching the ground. For the roads I think I'm fast enough and have given up trying to be honest...

where's the "not tried yet cos I don't think i'm good enough" option?

i tried just cos i thought i might aswell give it a go. got about 6 inches away from it and started to feel uncomfortable so didnt push it.

maybe il do it but not too bothered really. not worth crashing for thats for damn sure.

I must be getting old ya know.......if I get my knee down it generally means I'm falling off!

Quick and smooth does it for me, never been tempted to get my knee down. Just lean it a bit more.......run out of rubber......hit tarmac.....slide......ouch!
