Race can for a K5 sv650s

Hey all..

I am looking for a race can for my k5 and most of the stuff available seems to advertised for 00-03 range. I was after a Yoshi RS3 really... one of these...

I was considering a blue flame but when I spoke with the guy on the phone he said that all the SV's are the same and it will fit, which I thought was a load of crap since I have read on here that they are not all quite the same and the 00-02 to 03-05 are completely different.

Besides Bluefame have been getting some stick on here for poor quality and service so a Yoshi is my ideal.

What's really avalaible for the K5 ? Is it exactly the same as the K4 fitting. I am thinking of a slip-on.

The K4 and K5 are the same fitting (03-05 all the same but 02 and earlier are different)

Loads of manufacturers do the 05 now - obviously as I work for Wolf I'd recommend these (and bear in mind we won the MCN test last year beating every other brand whilst Yoshi actually came last) but as I said there is loads of choice now

Thanks. So is the k5 also the same as the k3 ? Would the link pipe be the same.

The only reason I like the Yoshi is a friend had them on his TL1000 and they sound very deep. I don't know what to get really but wanted to make sure that the 05 SVS is exactly the same fitting as the 04 and 03 model.

I'll check the wolf site.

NEGATIVE captain!!

The K3 exhaust is different to the K4 & K5 as well as being different to the earlier (curvy shape) models.
The reason for the difference is not the exhaust itself or the link pipe 'per se' but due to the 'kink' that Suzuki put in the subframe, which lowers the rear end - including the pillion pegs and therefore the exhaust mount.
A K3 exhaust will fit on a K4/5 bike BUT you will need to modify or replace the RHS pillion peg/exhaust hanger.

I would have thought that Wolfracing should know his facts considering the fact that he makes exhausts for these bikes!

coombest - sorry mate but the 03 will fit the 04/05 - we have been doing 2-3 a week of these for the last 2 years and therefore do know the facts as we do make the products :D

Fair enough but this is not my experience! :?

Leigh Bradbury, a member of this site, bought an Akrapovic full system for his K4 and was assured that the K3 system would fit it perfectly... It didn't & he had to make an exhaust hanger and remove the RHS pillion peg.

I suppose Suzuki may have modified the exhaust system itself so that K3 exhausts would fit. This would be the only way I could imagine the full system not fitting but the slip-on apparently doing so! :?
