Melted brake line ooeerrr
I have just realized that my high level pipe work has melted into the rear brake line. I have now made the necessary adjustments to make sure that there is clear air between the two. Now concerned that I will have to replace it.
The outer hose is well and truely melted but the don't think the inner hose is damaged. Should I replace or will it be OK :?: |
probably only cosmetic, but better to replace.
I don't think heat could have damaged the line. I am assuming they are braids? |
I thought the rear line has a plastic outer sheath down a chunk of its length - is it that wot's melted? If so, I think it's only there to stop chafing of the pipe.

Safety critical item. Don't mess! Replace!

Treat yerself Ape..go for a braided line if having to go to the trouble of replacement. 8)

I had the same happen with my twin renegades. Never got to the inner so left like that. Passed MOT with no probs.
If you need to change I might have a spare rear you can have. Quote:
