Heavier Bar end weights.

Being a newish Sv650er, I look at all you other posters with your fancy modifications and improvements, with a small amount of jelousy! and realise I have run out of money to buy any fancy stuff so I can add to my sign off signature under my postings. I spent all last months surplace money on a new Frank Thomas summer riding jacket and trousers, and some really smashing kangaroo/kevlar gloves, and this months money has gone on some urgent repairs to my house roof [sob..].

Now to date, all I have added to my bike is a Clock, so I can tell what the time is as I decide how many more minutes of fun I can have before I have to get back to work. However, I saw someone selling some replacement bar ends on e-bay and they have heavy ones which are supposed to make vibration less bad. So I bought some. Is this a good idea? I have felt a little vibration but it doesn't make me have pain as yet. Will they work, is it cool? am I sad? Only joking I don't care, but if anyone wants some great colour coded bar end weights they are on e-bay. Will let you know what they're like when/(if) they come. only £5 + £5p+p

.. well still not really good enough to add to my sign off signature, maybe a screen to come soon.

here's the link to these lovely ends

I've got heavier ones on mine, but I only added them because I managed to knacker both of the OEM ones. Amusingly they are made by a company that trades as OEM.
I've since grazed one of my lovely stainless barends, but I think I can polish it out.

Carsick,
at £10 for some different new ones, It's hardly worth repairing them.

take a look at the lovely selection :-

Actually it came up with about 5 different types and shapes before, only one type appear here now.

How much heavier are those than stock, though? My stainless ones are extremely heavy.

I went for the extra heavy ones, but I haven't recieved them yet, so I can weigh them when they come and let you know.

They did look smashing in the pictures, and all different shapes, Knurled, bullet smooth small .. etc..

Dear Quiff,

them are bobby dazzlers....

the stock ones are so boring and black.. It's such a cheap mod.

P.S.
that tin of paint on the wall and brush, looks a bit ominous . .

thought that wen I posted the pic!

I was painting the downspout and back gate !!!

I posted about this sometime ago, after raising the rear 2 1/2 inches, I was left with the choice of a steering damper or heavier bar ends.

After trying a few I found the ones from the GSXF were steel sleeved / lead cored and fitted the curvy bars.

£1 each down the breakers.

Now that is a cheap mod :!:

Cheers Mark.
