250's coming back....yay!!

Was reading in MCN that Kawasaki have developed a 250 4 stroke model weighing in at just 100kg,and should be followed by efforts by the other big manufacturers to develop new smaller sportbike class

Performance similar to a 125GP bike and GP styling, will hopefully make their way into production soon

Ever since I lusted after an RS250 when I was 16 =P~ ive wanted the 250 class to come back. Not the mad buzzy 2 strokes of old obviously but still, cant complain :D

I think it will be great for getting more kids interested in bikes and give new riders a whole new option for their 1st bike. It better happen!

MY first 2 250s as a learner were a C15 and then a hustler quickly replaced by a GT. Non of which I would describe as mad buzzy. I still think learners should be allowed upto 250. but I suppose stuff like the LC were over the top

hmmm interesting...but as a toy to play with if they considered a race rep 250 triple I would be at the dealers in a shot! I loved my KH250...we shared a lot together first off's.first wheelies, first.....oops that's a different story!

Come on Aprillia get that 450 4 stroke V twin into the RS250 chassis and get it in the shop. I WANT ONE

it should get more kids into biking.

at the mo you can only have a 50 or 125 on L plates but when you pass ur test the options are few

1 - stay on a 125cc
2 - buy a 10year old jap 400cc
3 - Buy a 600cc, with high insurance
4 - buy a Nova and Pimp it

I've ridden a CBR250 and that was loads of fun! 18k redline is awesome

I liked the SV fine when it was on 33bhp, so an SV400 (they actually make SV400's in Japan or something, don't they?) would be pretty funky.

Cheaper insurance, maybe cheaper fuel costs as well. I think the SV650 is too much for just commuting/pootling about. I like the fact that it can be let loose and has loads more grunt for weekends and so on, but if I were just commuting I'd want something smaller.

Does anyone think the MotoGP 800cc decision is going to bring back a new wave of 750-800cc bikes, and reduce the amount of 1000cc jobs out there? What about WSB and BSB going down to 800cc - anyone think that will follow MotoGP??

kwak zzr 06-08-05 12:43 PM

they tend to follow WSB more than moto dont they? at leest foggy will be ready with his 900cc triple!
