Raptor 650 or 1000.
To go from an SV650 to a raptor 650 is a bit strange. It will be the same engine with (probably) duffer electrics and poor spares backup. If you want to go to a 1000 speak to AmandaM. She's done it and loves it. |
Don't like the V Raptor but the naked one's sex on two wheels. Maybe my favourite looking bike- understated but beautifully executed. The obvious thing to be aware of is parts availability...

Ar, yes the thou I'd be after. I've ridden a nekid one a while back. Liked it but not as much punch low down as my firestorm but I liked everything else. The V raptor is definately a marmite bike! I like 'em.
What are they worth though, they seem a bit off the grid as it were, not many about to form a price average from. |
Ooohhhh yes  Marvelous bikes and I absolutely love mine. My nekkid raptor is completely wonderful  I paid £3700 for mine - It's a 52 plate and had 3000 miles on it when I bought it. You can pick them up for less I think, and I think the V-raptor goes for a few bob more.
Things to look out for... The radiator can leak at the top left-hand mounting bracket but that should have been sorted out under warranty and involves changing a washer. They are thirsty beasts as well, especially if you ride them enthusiastically  Apart from the rad prob they're pretty reliable. I had a couple of teething troubles because it had been stood a while but now it's sorted I've done plenty of trouble-free miles :D Check out www.raptorchapter.com (when the site's back up) for more info. Heh, Cagivas and Bimotas must be the only bikes in the world where if they break deown, you pray it's the engine not something simple :)
