limehouse link - isle of dogs - flashing
 

Recently friend and i got flashed through the tunnel - the speed camera type unfortunately. Anyone know the odds of the cam being out of film? It didn't seem to be of the normal, yellow box by the side of the road type, so I'm guessing digital?? :(

As far as I am aware, they are not allowed to have flashing camera's actually in tunnels, as this can disorientate drivers and can cause them to have an accident. Could be wrong on this one, but don't think so.

I was flashed by a bog standard camera in the Limehouse link a few months ago (the middle camera heading east) - Never had any paperwork through though, here's hoping you'll be ok.

Oh - the digital ones are always blinking and winking, but do not appear to be there to enforce speed levels - everyone zooms through most of the tunnel, and slow down for (what i think) are gatso cameras at the start, middle and each end of the tunnels.

ive got it on source that they are dummy cameras. ive been flashed with them before still nothing back so i think he is right

I've often seen the limehouse tunnel cameras winking, looks more like reflections of the vehicles than a full on gatso type flash. Always put it down to paranoia and lots of vehicles with lights on in there causing reflections. Was it a big gatso type flash or something smaller?

Disagree with the last statement. Its actually a good place to have a 30 limit. Many a time have i been caught out around one of the bends by stationary traffic. As for the gatsos. Theya re live, but like all, they only contain film in a set rota of cameras. The traffic flow cameras dont flash, and its a reflection thing!!

They are, installing Specs in the limehouse within the next 6 months!!
