Carole Nash the Good the Bad and the Ugly "longish"
As some of you might or might not know I had my one year old GSXR750 k4 stolen a little over a couple of months ago.
It's taken time but I got a payout and a very good one considering the price of K5's now  So the point of this thread is just to let you know the problem I had with the staff and the fact that some never even knew some very important information. When I first made my claim I happened to get a very good member of their staff who knew what he was doing deal with my claim. He put me on hold for a few seconds while he checked something out. I'am glad he did because when he came back he told me I was with only one of three insurance companys who they dealt with who transfer my policy to a new bike after a theft   made him double check too hehe. Lat week when I received my payout I phoned them back to get a few quotes on a few bikes to see the amount of top-up I would have to pay on my insurance for a new bike. "Sorry sir but I have to get confirmation that I can transfer your policy over, from our claims department" np I understand, but because they were busy they would have to call me back, which they never did  . I called them back four times over two days "we will have to call you back etc etc"   with the fourth time the customer service person put into his computer that I had confirmation, which I never just so I could get a rough idea of whats bikes I was allowed on my policy. Not very many and all at silly add ons   So yesterday I made my mind up-ish and phoned them back. I getting to the end :D anyway when I spoke to them they denied all knowledge of me having called and that what I was told was crap and I would have to start a new policy on my new bike     as you could tell I was very ****ed off and spent half an hour on the phoned being pushed around to different people with no luck, when I finally got put through to a lady called lella (laims dept) and she swore blind that my policy could be not changed over "it's in big red letters at the bottom of my screen". You can only changed your policy over to a new motorcycle on a non fault claim except theft   So my point to her was if this is in red at the bottom of my screen why would the guy I first spoke to not have seen this, so I asked her to speak to Zenith herself or pass me onto someone who would. Off she went even though she told me she could not speak to them but she would check something out with her supervisor after much pushing on my part and I mean much. Back she comes (10mins later-ish)"erm yes your right sir"    It turns out that not very many ppl know about this, it seems that they were not told and I guess the guy I first spoke too was never meant to tell me who knows :?: :?: :?: I'am very glad I never took no for an answer because I would have started a new policy wasting money  She then told me that she had placed on my file the information she had told me, plus that I could change my policy to a new bike. She then gave me her extension just incase I have this problem again. I then got a very nice bonus too   the lady then put me through to a good colleague of hers who would put my quote through "ok sir that will be £71 pound extra for the remaining time you have left on your policy" Huh sorry I was told £281 before why has it changed, she could not tell why and that £71 was correct,   would you mind giving me a quote on a couple of bikes please maybe they have changed too  and yes they have by a bloody lot. so I now have this happy choice to make 1 GSXR750 K5 2 GSXR1000 Z4 Limited edition (the black one) 1900miles loads of extras Works out cheaper then getting the 750 and then buying mods for that   3 Aprilia Tuono k5 I hope I did not bore you too much and I very much hope you learn from my mistakes, never ever forget to take a name, and never ever ever trust your insurance company. p.s plzs excuse any typing errors as it's late  |
Go for the thou. Saves you having to run it in and add all the extras!

:winner: These are better than Tuono's - Must be true, even 'RiDE' say so ;) |
I agree with this - had appalling service from Carole Nash with them blatantly lying to me about getting a hire bike, putting me on hold and cutting me off, telling fibs about the insurance policy and what I had to do... basically I've been reliant on the solicitor they brought in (had legal cover so got them for free after the accident) to be able to deal with Carole Nash and Equity Red Star, both of whom have acted very badly... complaints to ombudsman pending
I've gone back to Bennetts since this, as Carole Nash were being very difficult and not bothering to do much... I only went with them as they were slightly cheaper than Bennetts, now I know why. Carole Nash seem to employ vast numbers of dimwits whose job is to stop you getting to someone who can sort things out. Bennetts on the other hand, always has someone who can sort the problem out on the other end of the line - the first person I speak to at Bennetts can usually sort anything out... with Carole Nash I must have been put on hold, transferred, asked to call later, told I would be called back (and wasn't called back) loads of times - we're talking about 20 times in 2 weeks here. Rubbish service, and not just a one-off bad experience... their staff genuinely don't seem to give a care about their customers. |
Yep sad but true it's all in the luck of the draw who you get with carole nash, just make sure you keep the name of the good ones
Going to have a quick look at the KTM 950, but I only have about £6.5 to play with, plus I've found tuono's for 6k because of the new one coming out at the end of this month. |
