Horn
My horn works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. just when I need it??
Any ideas? |
Whip it off and give it a clean up. Pay attention to the connection contacts. Clean them all up and the wiring harness end connector as well.

Can you get different Horns?
If so, what types of horns have people got? The little beep beep is a bit naf really....Be good to make it more bellowing...... Just a thought :) Wheelie |

The Nautilus is pretty big... Couldn't find anywhere to park it on mine. SO I got a pair of FIAMM snail horns instead, they're around £25 (IIRC) from Halfords (packed under the Ring brand) for a Hi and a Lo tone one. £5 extra for a Ring fitting kit to keep things simple, and away we go. Still not as loud as I'd like- I want a sonic cannon that loosens bowels :) But much, much better than stock and straightforward enough to fit.

Stebel Magnum. 136db and smaller than the nautilus, just £14 inc P&P from place below. Only got mine this weekend so will fit it this week and see how it goes...

The magnum is about the size of a clenched fist... the nautilus is meant to be a bit bigger and nippynormans site hints that they'll only really fit on the biggest Beemers... would be interesting to hear if anyone has got it on an SV. Another point - the nautilus comes with a relay, the magnum does not, but can be used with a relay. I'll see how I get on without a relay... I don't use the horn that much so I can't see it draining the battery. |
