Rider height

Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum, I waana get a new K5 sv 650 not the "S" version but i'm worried that the bike will be unconfortable for me. I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall!

Will this make the bike feel cramped, i have read reviews that say the sv is uncomfortable for tall people. is this true?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanxs

Hi, Welcome, etc

To be honest, you're probably going to be fairly uncomfortable on any bike (possibly excepting a big trailie!), the SV isn't that bad, I'm 6'1" and I fit OK. The S has higher pegs which might be a problem on longer rides, certainly I find myself having to stretch a bit after a while.

Some of the taller riders fit Buell footpegs on the SV1000S model to give them greater leg room. The guy I bought my SV1000S off was 6ft 3" and he felt much more comfortable. You can always look at changing the pegs on the 650.

Hi and welcome!

I'm also 6ft4in and have a SV650S K2. Whilst I don't commute on it daily (I'm a weekend/fairweather rider) I do decent trips on it and don't have a problem. The one adjustment I did make was to change the angle of the clutch lever as I found it was hurting my wrists after frequent use (i.e. in heavy traffic or through towns).

At the end of the day its down to preference, I guess. I can go 90mins to 2 hours without the need for a break, which I think is pretty standard for any bike really?

XD

Likewise, I'm 6'3" and don't have too much trouble but my legs don't quite fit into the moulding of the tank!

thanx 4 all the info.

I think the way 4ward is to arrange a test ride! i really like ther look of the bike and it woud be such a shame if i was to big for it. I will bring up the ideas about new foot pegs with the dealer.

What can i expect 2 pay for a new k5 sv650 standard, i know the rrp is about £4399, but i will have cash so will this help get a big discount?

Don't know. I thought you usually got bigger discount buying it off them on credit so they can fleece you over a couple of years.
