it doesn't sound like smoke to me. the exhaust and radiator get hot, water turns to steam when it touches hot stuff. I get steam coming off of various bits of my bike all the time in the wet.

but it smelled like smoke and it was coming from INSIDE the exhaust

IF you feel the standard silencer after a trip it stays quite hot for some time after the bikes stopped, certainly hot enough to still turn rain into steam. As this is evaporating inside the silencer its bound to smell Smokey so yup I'd say its normal.

If you're really worried, take it to your dealer and get it checked, but I still don't think it's a problem.

If I was you I wouldn't ride it.

Stand away from the bike. Lock it in a garage and brick the door up!

I reckon it could explode at any moment!
