Anybody fancy visiting Ireland and watching the North West 200?

I'm off anyway but thought I'd offer my service as a guide for anyone else who may be interested and all free of charge :-)

Itinery would be as follows...

Friday afternoon crossing from Holyhead to Dublin. Then ride up from Dublin to Bushmills and stay at a large guest house near the Giants Causeway.

Saturday ride across to PortRush to watch the North West 200

Sunday visit Giants Causeway and the Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, then ride down the fantastic Antrim coast road to Larne and then down to Dublin for an evening ferry back to England or alternatively
stay in Dublin (B&B) on the Sunday night and I'll show you how nice the guinness tastes in Dublin.

Costs... (Roughly...)

Ferry £50
Accomodation £65

So you would be looking at just over £100 plus petrol and food.

Just had confirmation that the date has changed to the 13th May.

I'll be getting in touch with the B&B over the next week to confirm places and also see what kind of discounts I can get on the ferry so people have a better idea of prices.

I'll add to this msg when I have more details.

one of the scots members (scooby 2102) and me were talking about going over ,so we could maybe turn this into a sv run/nw 200?? ill follow this thread for any news,but yeah 2 more at least :wink:

i tryed to do this last year and missed out so im def up for that prob wont stay at b&b though. is the bsb round at mondello park the week before the nw 200 like last year.

Probably the best way to do this is for people to book thier own B&B place
so I aren't landed with the bill if there are no shows and also people don't have to worry about entrusting a cheque to me. That way if you want to make your own way there you know where we are.

If there are people travelling by themselves it might be wise to post here to see if anyone wants to room share to keep costs down.

The owner reckons they are always fully booked by the New Year.
Costs are £25 (cooked breckie) or £22.50 continental.


I'll check out the ferries later this week, and give the options of Sunday or Monday returns.
