Datatool Veto Evo Advice
Hi guys,
My new bike has a Datatool Veto Evo fitted to it, only one of the key fobs works. How can I go about getting it working again? Also, the working fob will only activate/deactivate the alarm when I am standing right next to the bike. I am sure it's supposed to work from a distance? Advice please! Many thanks, Jake :riding: |
New Batteries?
|
in what, the fobs or the alarm? not sure if it has its own battery!
|
Try a new battery in the fob that isn't working. My datatool evo is a bit dodgy. Sometimes the fob only works if it's held a couple of inches from the bike, but most of the time it's OK. It's only a few months old, so I don't think that it's the batteries. I think that it's a crap alarm, I much preferred the Spyball on my last bike.

i'll give it a go
ive never had a alarm on my bikes before, tis all new to me! |
My Veto Evo will zap from about 10 foot away fairly easily. As others have said, try new batteries in the fob, maybe it has got wet at some point and needs pulling to bits and drying gently?

Check that the transmitter signal is
correctly aligned with the control unit by pressing both the O and s buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for at least 5 seconds, release the buttons and try again. (Note: Re-alignment will not work with low transmitter battery state). |
New battery I think will sort you out
If you press and hold the O button does the LED flash on the keyfob if it does then thats a signal to say the batteries flat in the keyfob TBH I find mind a huge pain in the ar*e and I am seriously contemplating having the damn thing removed |
the fob thingy doesnt flash when i press the button its just continues light.
on the spare key fob is does that but doesnt do anything to the alarm :? |
Battery is OK in the first fob then
The second fob that doesnt do anything, sounds like its out of synch with the alarm, follow the process somebody has described above about pressing both buttons to re-synch the key fob and that should sort it out |
