Coloured Bolts?
 

I'd like to replace most of the bolts on my k5 naked with red ones.
Where's a good place to buy from?
Anyone got any pics of there bike with different bolts on?

they can give you virtualyy every bolt you need.
i haven't got any close up pics of mine but i have had

blue
engine bolts
upper and lower fairing bolts
hugger bolts
brake and clutch lever
front and rear foot rests
tope yoke bolt
resevoir cap

Probolts are OK for what they are- cheap anodised ally. They're not very strong at all. I use their engine kit because I hate the "stud" look you inevitably get with stainless on black. They're generally a hassle- they can shear off before reaching the recommended torque (though they're easy to extract at least). I did have more of their stuff all over the bike but gradually I've gone to stainless (Chewy's kit, plus a couple of Ebay bags of mixed bolts for the nonstandard bits)

You certainly couldn't use them for any safety-critical position- brakes, for example. And I reckon it would be a good idea to be generally accepting of the possibility of a sheared bolt.

I'd only use stainless or titanium, but seeing as I'm tighter than a retards shoelaces it's mostly stainless. :wink:

Probolts or Hyperbolts, I forget which, do the ultimate in bling- coloured titanium. Gold coloured, naturally, and also blue and maybe red, can't remember.

I'm not giving into that madness :) I've got a ti rear sprocket nut because I needed one and it was cheaper than an OEM one, and a few ti nuts and bolts here and there that I got cheap at the scottish bike show, but I'll not be going any further with that. I thought about replacing all the unsprng bolts, within reason- brake calipers, pinch bolts etc- but realistically how much weight would I save? Across the whole front or rear end I'd be surprised if it was into 3 figures in grams, weighed against (for example) something like 7 kilos of front wheel and tyre. prbably save more getting an ally captive spacer for the rear wheel, or switching to Pilot Sports.

Sv Race Shop sell titanium axles now I think, can't recall how much they are. Somewhere between unbelievably and surprisingly, I expect.

Prob Bolt are the peeps. We have just become a dealer for them so will be getting the product training tommorow.

We are kitting our race SV's out in the titanium bolts where we are allowed to do so and also the engine kit to save weight etc.

The guy at Pro Bolt has been very helpful with regards to specs of the bolts and where you can and cant use certain types.

The titanium comes in Natural/Gold or Blue. The full titanium kit for the SV's costs around £350 to £400.

I will weigh our bikes when done...hoping for 155kg with fuel and oil etc...now in a class where there is a HP limit saving weight is a good way to add theoretical BHP!!!
