Student tyred of search?

Hello ye south western peeps,
I used to be a student and I was broke then, I'm now graduated, and unemployed and I'm really broke now.
My SV has a 180, 55, 17 rear tyre on, used to be a Meztler Z4 now resembles a brick shaped racing slick!! Quote for a new one was 162 squid. cough.

As I don't have any spare legs or arms to sell at this moment in time, does anyone know a good way to get a nice nice rear tyre for cheap?
Would be lovely if it could be local to Southampton too...
Thanks for your knowledge,
B

Just do what I do:

Find a SV with out an alarm, jack it up on a paddock stand, too spanners later and vola a new tyre. The only down side is the collection of wheels I have...

To be honest as a poor broke student myself there ain't an easy answer I just use the Credit Card and pray there's a job for me when I graduate :!:

Who's your quote from? Give Micheldever tyres a ring, they're usually very competitive.

There must be somewhere which sells second hand tyres. People dump perfectly legal tyres for the 'must haves' of the season. They must go somewhere.

Agreed.

I got a set of BT020's (not 180 section) for 175 ish from Micheldever tyres. I am sure they will sort you with something for around 100 notes for a back only.

Welcome back by the way.

What Carsick and Scoobs said

I got a set of Metzler Z6's from them recently £165

Then I needed a new rear as I had a puncture cost me £90

If you are going to go for a new one then you can't beat Micheldever.

I paid £165 for a pair of Z6 for my SV1000.

Personally I would never go for second hand tyres, but when needs must....

Thanks to all contributers..
I have been searching around and I've found an awesome collection of tyres at cheap prices.
The deal is that you order them from thevisorshop.com, postage included.
I guess then I just have to find someone to fit them but as long as fitting doesn;t cost more than 70 squid I should be making as the price for a Mez z4 180 rear is 90 quid!
I've used this site a few times for things[ i.e dark visors] and everything has gone really smoothly.
Um, I realise that this sounds like an advert for them but it's not, I'm just chuffed I found cheep tyres!!
Thank you all,
B

DON'T GO FOR A Z4.

They are truely shocking tyres.
