nightmare***all sorted thanks quest21
when i bought my bike it only had 1 key
stupidly i kept putting off getting another one cut and now the other one has been er misplaced. even more daft is that i dont have the key no. have phoned the dealer and suzuki and both said they have no records so cant help. ive heard the keyno. is underneath the ignition barrel. anyone else heard this? and would i need any special tools to remove it? any info would be hugely appreciated as the bike is chained up elsewhere  ta |
a locksmith can mesure inside your barrel and make a key to suit.
my friend did the same with his kwak. will probably be pricey and expect the locksmith to check out your details first though. |
get in contact with james at J.S GEDGE motorcycles in silchester road, St Leonards on sea, sussex.- if you can take off your ignition barrel and post it to him he has someone who can remake you a set of replacment keys for the ignition.it costs about £20/25. i know cos he got me a set made for my curvey!it takes about a week!

The key number was written on the seat lock barrel could not see it on the ignition barrel on my K3.

is it not written in the service book for the bike??

no key number in servece book unfortunatley and i cant get to the seat lock barrell to have a look there for the no. |
You will need a security star drive to remove the ignition. It's basically a large six pointed star shape with a hole in the middle.
If you can borrow an ignition from someone else you can swap the head and barrel over using two philips screws so at least you can start the bike and get it somewhere safe. |
hmmm
