Lo-Fi version at the click of a link....

This may have been mentioned before, but would there be a possibility of offering a link on each page of the forum that transfers the look of the window into a 'Lo-Fi' version. I've seen this on other forums (although not removing smileys).

This would leave simple black text in black frames all white background. No Avatars, or smileys. I know it sounds bleak, but would be very handy for 'office hours viewing' !!! Of course the forum in all its glory could be viewed at home etc...

What do people and moderators think? It is doable with the forum software?

There's also a poll above to gauge interest...

I've already got bits chopped out at my end by configuring my browser. It's a lot faster for starters and I find it easier to read.

I think a PM to the forum's Admins would have been the best starting point.

Also, the chances of it happening are remote, sorry. Polls like this, whilst well meaning, aren't very helpful.

Like Thor says, the easiest way is to do it yourself by reconfiguring your browser. You'll get results closer to what you want.

I've posted threads about how to achieve what I have in case anyone wants to know.

Actually, I did PM a moderator some time ago (~2 months), but didn't get any further feedback after an initial acknowledgment. I was only trying to get a feel for if this would be functionality that others would find useful/benefit from.

sorry if it isn't very helpful...

It's just that we've got more important things on the forum agenda, and though in an ideal world this might be what some peeps want, it's unlikely to ever be important enough for it to be implemented.
