Insurance Claims
Hi all, need some advice
as many of you know myself and my bike went tarmac surfing the other day, wasn't going to claim on insurance as i don't want to lose my no claims, but since then have come round to the idea of claiming, the only problem is i've got an excess of £650 Damage is mostly plastic which we all know is silly money, so what do we think, i can get a quote for all my riding gear too any help advice welcome -C |
£650 buys a lot of plastic! Get an assessment of the damage and decide. You will lose 2 years NCD for claiming and next years insurance will be loaded by approx 50%, as well as the loss of 2 years NCD! Plus that loading will last for a couple of years at least, probably 5. I don't think that it is worth it.

I agree with every thing Mariner said, £650.00 does buy alot of the plastics...
and the more NBC's you have the more you save in the long run. p.s. who are you insured with ? |
.
Carl, an insurance assessment would most probably write your bike off with only panel damage (due to the cost of new panels). Start collecting some good condition used panels m8.

I had an early mishap on mine, showing off when I collected it. I was parked sat astride it and we fell over
Damage was to Pride and top fairing, indicators, fuel tank and clutch lever. Suzuki prices were just short of £500 I didnt feel like claiming, but I probably should have done |
Check your policy details - hardly any policies will cover your clothing, etc. - even a comprehensive policy. Just the bike, so you may have to figure out what to do based purely on damage to the bike.
