Dead Speedo '99 S
My speedo worked intermittently and sometimes flicked right up to 70-80ish from about 30 - now it's stopped altogether. I've checked the front wheel stuff and the connector under the tank - but all seems fine. Next I'll try the connection to the pod but has anyone got any ideas or can tell me how to test the front wheel sensor?
I've had the pod apart to redial it so I may be to blame, but it would be nice to pinpoint the problem to either pick up or speedo head. Can some one also tell me what revs are showing at 70 on an 'S' in top gear and what gear and revs are best for 30 and 40mph so I can at least guess how fast I'm going! Thanks |
EAZEE PEAZEE mate, just dismantle your instrument binnacle and clean ALL of the pushfit wire clips in there and then smear them with vaseline or similar and then reassemble.
I had the same trouble with my 2000 model and my local bike mechanic gave me that info - worked a treat too |
I had very much the same fault, eventually it turned out to be a loose connection on the battery...
