Oil change!!!

I need to do an oil change on my K3 Naked Sv650 and don't know if there is anything special i need to do this or chan i just drain the oil, refill and replace the filter. :?:

Yep, that's about it. But not in that order, it goes:

Drain oil, replace filter, then refill.

Thanks, glad i don't need anything else, thought knowing my luck would involve alot more.

Usually best done with the engine still moderately warm, as the old oil will drain down more quickly.

Don't forget a new sump washer.

I know not everybody does, but the only person I know personally who didn't had a leak and had to start from scratch.... for the sake of 35p !!

I don't and still have the original washer at 30k miles and approx ten oil changes ;).

Take it from me, the anticlockwise to loosen reverses when it's upside down....

How i didn't strip the thread and ruin the sump is beyond me.

there's much more to a service than changing the oil

cleaning lubing adjusting, cables, linkage, lever pinch bolts, chain, check fasteners, etc.

jonboy 21-12-05 04:42 PM

Yes but that hardly takes a second ot two and should also be done on a regular basis. Methinks you've paid a fortune in the past due to your near evangelical praise of the Randy Mechanic (no jokes folks  ). You could have done it yourself sooooo much cheaper.
