New number plate hanger & My bike being fixed
Finaly got my number plate hanging again on the back of the bike.
Because of the hacked undertray you are left with the CDI unit usaly just lying around under the rear seat, i found that there is enough space to mount it under the side fairing (even if there is a datatool alarm fitted), just had to make a small bracket and screw it to the frame. There is a small LED light on the number plate, but it does not seem very bright, so might need to do something about that. It looks a bit far out, but the suspention is fully extended as its on the stand, when i take it off it should be fine i think. I cant remember who uploaded the undertray plate diagram, but its what i used to do the cutting. http://www.pyroserve.com/tsm/TSM_new...atehanger1.jpg http://www.pyroserve.com/tsm/TSM_new...atehanger2.jpg |
what tail tidy did you use?

The replacement rear end bit was cut using a template that a sv650 member (cant remember username) made. I cut it from steel but i will redo it in ally soon. And the tail tidy is held on using 4 small bolts/nuts. Unfortunatly my indicators are not wide enough by 0.8cm each side, so i had to trim the number plate a tad. |
It's lookin' good
You'll be back up and riding in no time ;). . |
jonboy's right it does look good! i'll be fitting mine today and hopefully have some pic's on here tonight.

ive done the same tsm,but no leds for the number plate light ,i used the ally one that hein gericke sell its quite neat.cos i was told that leds wouldnt give off enough light ,as for cdi i used a glue gun and just stuck it to side panel

The updated pics from today. All rear end sorted out & back on firm ground. Note that bike is going back to a standard colour scheme (apart from the tank cover which will now be red, it was cheep £10 ok..). Still need the indicators, now found that i need new bulbs for the rear ones as they have blown.

I though about a glue gun but i did not want to start sticking things that i might want to remove later. Was it to the inside of the tray or under the fairing that you glued it. Mine you cant see at all. |
looks good..
I wudnt put a red tank bag on!!.looks fine unless u use it daily commute and use a tank bag !!.. Question off tac a bit..but- I have a similar "garden" situatiion to you.. if there are none caring neighbours or just random parked cars in front of your gate- how do you get out??.. is the pavement wide enough to turn n bounce yer bikearound |

There is only a single gate, mostly i am fortunate that there is space for me to go right out. Its about 50/50 and time/day dependent. But the pavment is wide enough for me to move the bike around. I get darn close to the cars, probably about 5-10cm sometimes but never touched them. Its easy now to get in and out without having to get off the bike, just ride it in. |
