full system

hey guys am thinking of fitting a full micro zeta race system to my k4 sv650s what do u think? and anyone know where i can get some gilles rearsets cheap?

Micron don't have a very good rep for the SV... Not really sure why, but very few of the People Who Know These Things use them. Certainly the external diameter of the headers is smaller than the internal diameter of my WRP  But then there's a lot more to it than pipe size.

As for rearsets, Gilles and cheap don't really match up :) But Woodcraft have a great rep for the SV. They're not adjustable but they're well made and pretty well indestructible. That's probably what I'll get, if I ever get any.

I have read somewhere that Micron themselves don't really like running their cans on V twins as the pulses wreck them. That is why they don't do a road legal version.

Out of interest why do you want a full system? The BHP return verses the expense of a full system is not (in my opinion) worth it. Better off just getting a can and spending the balance on something else.

Agree with northy on the Woodcraft stuff as well. V. nice!

Yup, I'd agree with Scoobs there... You don't get a huge amount of power from a system and filter job, if you're paying new prices especially, even before the setup costs. If you can get to a Teka or Yoshi-box tuner that cuts the costs a bit compared to using a Powercommander.

And if you don't plan on fitting a filter and remapping, it's (IMO) money down the drain. It'll quite likely make your bike run less well than it does now, and give no benefits other than a slightly tidier look when compared to a slipon.

There's a decent weight loss versus the old system, but yeah, without remapping the response isn't as smooth as stock, and there's no real difference in power.

I've not heard anything good about micron...

Are these alternatives any good and how much do they cost? There was a guy selling P.C's on Ebay for around £150 (don't know if it was kosher or not) but there aren't any on there any more and £280 + dyno time is a lot of cash to alter the fueling. While i'm here can anyone suggest a good filter to put in?

Never tried it myself, if I want to change my fuelling I get a screwdriver :) But the Teka in particular gets very good feedback.
