few twin light questions???
going to covert my k5 to a twin light set up, can anyone recomend a kit?
i've read in previous post that excess wiring can be a problem, is there that much? and how can you get round it? Any help would be great cheers  |
S'funny, my K3 SVS came with twin lights from new !

Yeah, I intend to do this as soon as I get the bike, so any info would be handy...

There are two solutions to this problem.
Solution one is to make a new wiring loom that will plug into the plugs under the tank. You can then make all the wires custom length to fit. A solution that I shall be using when a. I have the time and b. I have acquired a new front loom. Solution two is to cut down all the existing wires and solder them back together. There is a solution three but that's plain ugly. Ask jonboy.  |
wheres best to buy them? i want them black not chrome
|
You can buy them from the big accessory outlet stores. Busters do them in black and chrome. As do M & P.
There is also a guy on EBay that sells them, that's where I got my last ones from. They are the exact ones that you can get from the retailers, only cheaper. a16roadnrace is his EBay user name. Oh and black is the right choice. |
have you got any pics of your bike,i know ive asked before but humour me
Any close ups? :D cheers for your help dude, would you leave the nose fairing on???? |
I have cut all the connectors off and soldered them together, but have not shortened them yet. They are just reasonably well tucked out of the way. When I get the chance I will do all the trimming of the cables to size. I think the worst part of doing it this way is that it involves all the iginition wiring as well. Personally I think it will be worth it.

cheers mate, like the colours 8) im trying to picture the lights withe the k5 nose fairing .......what you think?
|
If it's a standard nose faring it will be designed for a single headlight and will not (probably) fit round the two smaller lights as the are wider than a standard light. I have seen (somewhere) though that you can buy an after market nose faring that will indeed fit around the twin light configuration.
Personally I don't like them, I think it ruins the look of a naked bike. |
