Pete (vltn3) UPDATE - 27/01/06

** GOOD NEWS **

Pete is up & about on crutches !! :D :D

Only for short distances & very slowly - but at least he's not bed bound anymore. :D

His left leg (the one they took the skin from for the graft) is healing v nicely. :D

His right leg (the damaged one) is also coming along ok. They have him on a machine now whilst he is in bed that slowly moves the leg back & forth in order to get the kneecap & the leg muscles working again - he's currently up to about 50 degrees of bend - they're looking for 55 before they'll consider releasing him.

He's been informed that if he can pass a number of mobility tests they might think about letting him go home in around 7 - 10 days. :D

As Pete has decided that the time has come for him to give up motorcycling :( he has asked me if I would post a few bits & pieces in the For Sale section (2 lids, 1 ladies jacket + other bits). Anyone interested please see link below.

Pleased to hear he's on the mend.

That truly is good news.

On the giving up biking thing...

I know what I am talking about as I have been there myself. There is a good chance that he may just change his mind about that. You may actually be doing him a favour not selling his kit in such a hurry.

I'd let him think about it some more (like a few months) before coming to a confirmed decision. He may suprise himself and find that he would actually want to try it again.

Just speaking from experience after my accident, that's all.

Edit: After speaking with Supervox I would like to withdraw my above comment.

Good news :D
I'd hold fire on flogging the gear for a bit.We can make snap descisions like this after an off and change our minds a bit later.

Glad he's improving, not surprised he's giving up, after all he almost did last time

Hopefully catch up soon

Glad to hear Pete is improving all the time.

It's always a shame when someone gives up somethig they enjoy, so to come to this decision is probably for good reasons. I hope Pete will find something else to keep his interests up and fully recovers soon.
