What bit of the SV650/SV650s makes you keep it?

well, i love my SV and not going to sell for at least 1 year but what i want to know is, what makes you keep it and not go to IL600/750, Bigger V-Twin??

For me it probably:

 looks (i just love the look of the curvys not pointys though!
 insurance (at 17 they kill me with a IL600 like zx6r or R6)
 sound (with a race can they sould SOO nice)

so why you keep yours? Think this thread be good for anyone thinking of selling up then look at this and think "no, thats why i love my SV!!"

Looks, it's a pointy one, far better than the girly curvy one
Handling, excellent in the twisties
Insurance cost....£183 fully comp
Fuel consumption, 45mpg
Size and weight, not intimidating

Purely the insurance.

If I woke up tomorrow with a full NCB it would be gone within the week. Yearly premium is £1000 less per year than a GSXR (£500 v £1500).

Reasons I got rid of my Bandit and bought one in the first place:

Looks good
Sporty riding position and general feel
No carbs
Wind protection

It's just the right bike for me, I think. Cheap to run, cheap to fix, loads of parts and ideas for messing about with it, but most of all, now that the suspension's sorted it's one of the nicest riding experiences I've come across. There's plenty of bikes that handle better, but none I've been as happy to simply chuck about, and I love hte power delivery of mine. It's basically the fact that I can absolutely rag it from time to time and not get in bother, which just isn't the case with most of the other bikes I'd like.

the exact same would have gone for the Hornet, I think.

it does everything i want a bike to do

Looks the mutts nuts
Sounds awesome with the Scorp can
50-55mpg even when im giving it some
Great to ride
easy/cheap to maintain
Cheap insurance

looks much faster than it is (pointy one)

brilliant handeling for its class

you dont need to be doing 140 to have fun on it

cheap to run

its a v-twin

and its still much better than i am so can't justify getting anything faster

Its because of that thingimibob attached to the dingledangle thing.
