Triumph
A piece in the Independent about Triumph motorcycles.
Doing well...which is good for my nationalism. Can't see me buying one though. At last...they are no longer competing with the Japanese, but building triples and twins, building a niche market. I said that ages ago. The Rocket III still looks like a tart's handbag thou. |

Just waiting for my father inlaw to get one. Not my cup of tea and how much will it cost to replace that rear tyre?
|
I think the Rocket looks ok (not may taste but I can see the appeal)
THe only problem I would have with riding it, is that of similar proportions to Stevensons machine of the same name :D |
And here's the link to the story :D

Fancy a nice Daytona 650/675 myself (in yellow).
Beautiful IMO. Although you seem to always hear bad reports on reliability etc. is this the case? |
There's been a fair few problems with reliability... Brake issues on the new triple, starter motor issues... Wouldn't stop me from buying a Daytona 675 if I was in the market, but it'd be at the back of your mind. The naked 675, if they actually do it, is a very cool idea. (still skeptical myself, the 1050 engine was designed to be seen but the 675 one's not so pretty)

Triumphs are pricey to look after.... Would make even a Ducati driver blush. |
Only when you crah them

Triumphs aren't that bad cost wise. Agreed the Jap bikes may have cheaper spares, but they do build a lot more of them. I quite fancy a Speed Triple, not the current one, the model before.
I really wanted to get the ST before I bought my 'Blade and as much as it looks nice and is easy to ride, it just wasn't my thing. The 675 on the otherhand is an absolute gem, but with my back problems I'd never be able to ride it for more than 30 minutes at a time  . |
