Visiting the USA

Is it true that even if you have a speeding fine against you, that you have to apply for a visa to visit the US?? If so, then visiting the states is off for good!!

Was thinking of going to the states for a wee break this wintertime coming...

I very much doubt it. My mate has a US DUI and he goes on a 90 day tourist, and they must have that on record.

Its not true. Moving violation, unless you are absolutely hoor'ing along they might waive it when they see you are not a Yank. Worst case scenario in 90% of cases, you just send in a fine. They make it all quite easy

Where are you going?

Nope its not true, i had 6 points when I drove accross the west of America.

On a similar note...

My GF's friend is going to America for her honeymoon in June, she has 2 Assault PC's for biting when being detained 6 or so years since. What do you reckon her chances of gettin in are ??

You have to apply for a Visa to get in the US whatever, its normally just a simple form you fill in at the destination airport.

As far as I can remember there is nowhere on the form that asks you about any criminal convictions.

Don't tell them! I have a conviction for posession of a certain type of tobacco  and it's never been mentioned or checked! As a merchant seaman did many trips to the USA and it was never a problem. Was advised to say nowt!!!
