Good range Router/Adsl modem/Wireless Access point?

My router is a bit naff, and I want a new one that has a good range. Must have

at least a 4 port wired switch
in built adsl modem
WPA encrytion
firewall
54g Access point
usual security measures (MAC addy filtering etc)

Thanks in advance!

I've had a bad experience of the 3Com one, so would recommend you avoid that.

Have used the NetGear ones for a few years now, and they've usually been very reliable, though they did go through a phase where the Wireless ones were a bit flakey.

I think they've fixed this now with the current, and new generation ones. I've recently played around with the NetGear DG834G, which is a superb router. It has a variant, the DG834GT, which has Wirless up to 108Mbps for an extra tenner. Probably not worth it IMO.

Belkin stuff sometimes gets a bad rep.

Just a note that some of the Belkin boxes uses the same hardware as the 3COM OfficeConnect Wireless Router & SMC Barracade. I know becuase the firmware can be loaded on every box and the boards are the same.

I have use the 3Com version and have many problems with the wireless signal dropping and unit locking up. Not just 1 box but 3.

I am going to get a Zyxel Prestege next. I have used 3 from the same series for over 4 years without any problems or crashes. The new ones have wireless added along with firewall, VPN, IDS.

Belkin's rep is justified imho. My current belkin one is kack at maintaining the connection, and just seems to have moments where it thinks it's connected, but isn't.

I would quite like one that supported virtual LANs actually. Me and my next door neighbour plan to share the connection, but would prefer not to see each other's windows machines.

The Zykel is a bit pricey though. I also have a recommendation for Vigor routers.

I use the same router for a freinds house.

It has become very flakey when there are several computers connected via the wireless Drops wireless (wired still ok), also seems not to be able to handle several computers with lots of open connections (using eMule etc..).
