Removing a baffle from ccc can

Hi,

Me and my baffle are a bit stuck. I've just bought a steel ccc can w/removeable baffle. The problem is I can't remove it.

I can see the rivet which you need to remove, but no matter how hard I pull the baffle won't come out.

Question: Should it come out the back?

Also, just in case I'm being extra stupid, can someone post a pic of their removed ccc can baffle.

Cheers

you may have to take the can off, and then insert a broom handle and push it out IYKWIM.

Hi there mate - i removed my baffles from my new ccc on saturday and the lower of the two was a pig to remove.

Two things too check

1. When you drilled out the rivet ( 4mm drill ) did you get the whole rivet ( i found a little piece of the rivet stuck in there causing it to snag.

2. If you have the whole rivet drilled out give the baffle a little wiggle with grips ( pipe grips or mole grips will be ok ) because the baffles were held in with silicon sealant ( caused much merriment in the engineers workshop - we thought we were the only bodge artistes still about )

Will post some piccies tomorrow if you are still stuck mate.......

As mentioned make sure the rivet has been fully drilled out...if not use an old chisel or screw driver with a hammer to break it off if there is no other way. The baffle is gonna need a broom handle as mentioned inserted in the other end to push the baffle out the rear.
Both mine and a friends ccc have baffles that are very tight to put back and using Copaslip helps you slip it in and out a lot easier
If i am off on a real early morning i only push the baffle in part of the way which is enough to lower the sound a bit and then remove it as soon as i am away from the neighbourhood. Other than that i have never rode with it in for more than a couple minutes

The shape of the baffle only allows it to come out of the back of can

I had to use grips to remove the baffle from my CCC for the first time.
A couple of twists left and right and it came out quite easy.

Ah, it is confirmed I'm an idiot.
Looking at the picture from TC3 shows why I couldn't remove it.
I was trying to remove the inner pipe (which I assumed was the baffle) and as it didn't appear to touch the rivet I didn't drill it out

Thanks for your assistance, will try again this weekend.
