Best tyres to last 4000 miles?

I don't do many miles on the SV (about 5000 per year) so I want some new tyres that don't need to last more than 4000 miles odd. What's the stickest, most confidence inspiring tyres I can get? Diablos? 010s? I still want them to be ok in the wet though.

I am a total tyre newbie! :?

You could try the new Conti Sport Attacks, or indeed the new Michelin Pilot Powers - a lot depends on budget.

To be honest there are few road tyres that aren't up to the job of fast road riding, but if you plan to do a whole heap of track days then that would be the only reason to consider something stickier, but then you have the problem of them not warming up without a fair amount of abuse and of course they're not wonderful in the wet at low temperatures.

Browse the hole Tyres section, it's honestly all been discussed at some length.

You could try the Viper sports, or if you want something really good, the super sports.
I don't know anything about the other sporty tyres, other than the BT014 which I don't really get on with.
I'll be trying the Sport Attacks in the summer.

From what I've read so far in this section, the following look like candidates?

Sport attacks
Pilot powers
Diablos
Viper Sports / super sports?

Will keep reading!

They're all good, you wouldn't go wrong with any of them.

If you're in London try Essential Rubber over at Islington:

I'm sure he mentioned wet weather  Yeah, you're right Rennsport (or are they racetecs now??)

Diablo's or Diablo Corsa's would be good - the Viper SuperSports I have on the bike at the moment have been faultless.

Don't know what the others are like but the Viper Sports are excellent.
