Best tyres to last 4000 miles?
I don't do many miles on the SV (about 5000 per year) so I want some new tyres that don't need to last more than 4000 miles odd. What's the stickest, most confidence inspiring tyres I can get? Diablos? 010s? I still want them to be ok in the wet though.
I am a total tyre newbie! :? |
You could try the new Conti Sport Attacks, or indeed the new Michelin Pilot Powers - a lot depends on budget.
To be honest there are few road tyres that aren't up to the job of fast road riding, but if you plan to do a whole heap of track days then that would be the only reason to consider something stickier, but then you have the problem of them not warming up without a fair amount of abuse and of course they're not wonderful in the wet at low temperatures. Browse the hole Tyres section, it's honestly all been discussed at some length. . |
You could try the Viper sports, or if you want something really good, the super sports.
I don't know anything about the other sporty tyres, other than the BT014 which I don't really get on with. I'll be trying the Sport Attacks in the summer. |
From what I've read so far in this section, the following look like candidates?
Sport attacks Pilot powers Diablos Viper Sports / super sports? Will keep reading! |
They're all good, you wouldn't go wrong with any of them.

Lol, I'll see what's on special offer then!

Diablo's or Diablo Corsa's would be good - the Viper SuperSports I have on the bike at the moment have been faultless. |
Don't know what the others are like but the Viper Sports are excellent.
