I have just purchased this oil above (4L) as I read it was semi-synth. I got home and noticed it says its synthetic ester based.

Basically is this ok to use in my bike ? K4 svs6

Yes, i have been using it in my bike since new

I've just replaced my oil with comp 4, and I haven't noticed anything different about the bike because of it. It's better than the SV needs but I'm doing low miles right now and it may well sit in there for 1-2 years until it gets changed again. Fully synth doesn't break down over time to the same degree that semi-synth would, so it suits me better right now. If I were changing it every few months due to higher mileage then I'd go for something semi-synth and cheaper.

So long as you put at least semi-synth in there and keep it topped up and change it to schedule, it doesn't matter all that much what exact type it is. I've heard of a courier clocking up 100,000's of miles on a few bikes and he only used car oil as it was cheaper.

Car oil as anti slip porperties/aditives that will cause problems with the clutch. So not recomended unless you ride a Kwak GT750, or a Bros!! ;)

I don't know this particular oil, but if it says 'synthetic ester based' rather than 'fully synthetic' then it's probably semi-synthetic anyway. Oil marketers use all kinds of fancy wording such as 'advanced synthetic technology' etc. etc. for oils that are only part-synthetic. As long as they don't claim it to be fully synthetic when it ain't, it's legal for them to do it.
