GSXR 750 K5 shock In a SV0650s K2

I am about to fit a gsxr 750 k5 Shock to my SV 650! it is about 6mm shorter between mounting points but am going to use it with jack up plates ( shorter linkage plates) I will also need to move the battery slightly.

Is this a good idea or not?

No. It wont fit porperly. DONT USE IT.

Only SRAD shocks will fit.

It's definately a case of 'suck it and see'.

Fitting a different length shock and then changing the links to get the suspension height back again, moves the linkage into a different part of the rate curve, mostly reports have suggested this not to be problematic, but I've ridden a couple of bikes which have been horrible.

I don't recall which bits were which, but you'll find out soon enough if your setup is good or not.
