Removing number plate hanger.

I had a look to see how I would go about removing the standard number plate hanger as it looks like a snow shovel. Can't see any bolts or obvious places for me to unscrew. I've bought a tail tidy so want to get it on there asap.

I own a K5 SV.

Thanks,

Dan

Here you go.
It's pretty easy, but you will probably need to flex the plastic to get to the bolts.

What tail tidy do you have? Hamicad have instructions in .pdf format here: http://www.hamicad.co.uk/SV_Fender/f...ew%20style.pdf

I bought it off ebay from Germany. The UK one's were charging upto £65 plus postage. Feckin rip off for a tiny peice of aluminium. It's a route 9 tail tidy and set me back only £30 new plus £6 postage from Germany. What a deal!

I just did this on Saturday following the Hamicad instructions (got a second hand one off ebay for £22 delivered :D).

It was a pain just because of the position of some of the bolts. I think the hamicad instructions would pretty much apply to any tail tidy for the SV though because they basically tell you how to take it apart and then do it in reverse with the new part!

Finished (after 2.5 hours! I'm slow at this stuff) it looks spot on

post some pictures of the different tail tidys, i got the R&G one and ive got to say "i'm not compleatly happy with it"

SV Dan- Please keep us posted on how installation went and how you like it. Pictures would be nice. I am leaning toward the Hamicad, as I think the plastic butchery (battery tray)for the very slick looking Hotbodies would make return to stock fairly difficult, not to mention the $200 USD price. We can get the German model pretty cheaply here in the US off eBay, so am very interested. Also, did you get polished or black?

How much did you pay for it? I paid £50 and I don't think you get very much for your money, number plate light's rubbish aswell. Bit of a disapointment as I like their crash protection gear.

When it turns up I'll post piccies. I think it came in matte black. Is a plate light a legal requirement in the UK?

Again....not that it matters!
