scotoiler
hi guys :D :) :D
am thinking of getting a scotoiler for my w reg 650s any way how easy ar they to fit (not very good with mechanics) or is it just easier to get it fitted by some1 else :D :D :D plus where is the cheapest place to get 1 i presume the mk7 universal 1 is the best to get for some 1 who wont use there bike loads and loads but i still think scotoiler is the thing for me though any help welcome cheers russ ________ Interracial amateur |
Its real easy. I even did it. I put mine under the left (as sat on bike) saddle shutter under the seat. I only needed a couple of washers to pad it out as the frame has a perfect hole already screwed in the frame, Check here for more help.

W will be a curvy... I agree, piece of cake to fit. That wee hole in the frame's a gift. When I got the bike, mine was just stuck in the underseat. Used to lose its prime constantly, and leak from time to time, as well as taking up space.

Mines fitted on the right side underseat. No problem with losing primer or making a mess.

Or was it actully leaking out of the unit itself? |
Under the left infill panel there is a threaded hole into the frame next to the shock.
I put my scottoiler there. Its nice and hidden. Have to be carefull how you fit it otherwise it will touch the chain. |
Must get round to fitting mine, but was put off by the fact that originally there were vacuum problems. Or so I believe.

I reckon the side position, under the side cover, is a perfect combination of discrete (since it's invisible with the cover on) easy to get at (one allen bolt) and out of the way (since it's not a space that's used for anything else). |
So have you scottoiler guys used the carb vacuum take off point or split the vacuum pipe to the fuel tap? It looks to me as if the latter option is easier.
