suzuki prices! - taking the P!!
 

Need to replace the pads on my busa so phoned local dealer to ask prices for O.E. prices. £177 WITHOUT FITTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! guess suzuki can poke that up their ****! honda blackbird O.E. pads are only about £70 and Kwak zzr1200 are about £80. i've got a complete list of different bikes including R1, ZX10, TRIUMPH SPRINT ETC and the suzuki prices are downright greedy! i'm going to draft a letter to suzuki and mcn. how the hell can they justify £177 for a set of brake pads???

Have you tried any other dealers? It could be just that dealer thats having a laugh, it does sound ridiculously high!

i dont know how they price things? i once purchased a carb brass mixture screw for a vauxhall astra carb @ £11 and this was about 12 years ago!
on the other hand, oil filters from my local vauxhall dealer are cheaper than any other small car parts outlet. the solo seat cowel for a pointy sv @ £42 aint a bad price either.

Anyhoo, why buy suzuki OEM pads?

We get our parts via Robinsons in Kent. You can do it on line if you have the part numbers and you get to see the price prior to ordering. Top service and only a couple days waiting for them to arrive.

Think I'd buy none Suzuki pads though.

As Kate says, parts don't seem to be as standardised between dealers as they make out. I've found massive (40%) disparaties on parts between 2 dealers only 10 miles apart!

I had a similar thing last year.
I needed a set of 4 brake pad retaining pins for the Tokico radial calipers. Suzuki wanted £52 for them. I tried about five suzuki dealers but all the same price. Ended up ringing a Kawasaki dealer and got the same four parts for £11.
