Engine paint colour

Like a lot of the SVs I've seen around, the paint on the off-side front by where the water pipes enter the engine takes a bit of a hammering and comes off. Has anyone found a good colour match from a Halfords colour? I'm worried about making it look worse than it is by using the wrong paint, wrong colour or wrong lacquer.

The whole bike got a good coating in ACF-50 so hopefully it should slow down some of the corrosion, but this bit seems to be a common problem area.

It's a 2001 with the nearly black, sort of dark graphite engine.

Any ideas?

I cleaned the front and sprayed with a black high temperature can by WURTH. Its close enough. I've a '99 curvy.

Halford's satin black engine paint is a damn good match.

A sort of link to this :?

Apologies if I am hijacking this post.

I have some paint damage to my engine casing. Its a K3 therefore it is not 'black' but more of a silver colour. Where can I get a paint that will suit it.????

There's a PJ1 (I think) engine paint called Suzuki grey... That grey on the earlier SVs used to be pretty common, so I reckon it could be a match. Keep on forgetting to buy it though.

TBH I'm thinlking of dropping my engine and getting it sprayed up professionally... Not that it needs it, really, but it'd be nice.

I've bought the Halfords stuff. They do a leveller aswell that might help to blend the colours a little better. I'll try a small section first on the underside and see if it needs it or not.
