SV Mad Modder in Texas Continues on...........It's a Disease
I got a Yosh RS-3 SS Full system and installed it on the SV, it is used and has a Ti can. This evening I rejetted, put in 140 main jets and 2.5 turns on the air screws with 2 shims under each needle. Looks sharp, couldn't ride tonight, will ride tomorrow and let you know how it went.
Also got the hanger with the pipe. Very nice stuff. Note way cool one finger stoppie 6 pots! Woo Hoo! Click for a big 'un http://photos.imageevent.com/tlsdoug...e/P3222817.JPG |
The USD forks and the can really beef the bike up. Looks good.
No rear pegs. Get rid of the rear sear and get a single seat cowl on there. |
that little bike is looking better and better everytime i see it doug :)
are those 140 mikuni or dynojet mains? (if dynojet, i bet you can go a bit bigger still, with that full system) |
They are Mikuni mains, I almost put a DJ main in there and then realized that might suck and fixed it. Rejet cost is at $6.00 USD so far. But amazingly it is 37°F today and only going to get a little warmer. Tomorrow is a track day and about the same, so riding is a tough deal today. I am a fair weather biker. It normally is around 70°F or so this time of year. It was almost 80°F two days ago. Could make it a little slick. Probably leaving the SV at home.

that sv looks in very good condition, dont you get any rain?
|
We don't ride in the rain, it doesn't rain a lot and the SV lives inside the garage.
I rode the thing today with the new jetting, it really runs great, very responsive, revs to the limiter quickly. This is how it should have run. However the real test was my daughter riding her bike. She says the flat spot between 5K & 6K is completely gone and it seems to "have power everywhere". She was quite impressed and I must say it really runs better and it ran great before. Total "jet kit" cost? $4.00 USD. And that is stretching it. I got the pipe for under $400.00 USD and so it turns out to be a cheap good deal for a change. Use the catpoopman jetting pages, really good stuff. |
