Pointy ECU question
So I need a remap.
I have a K4 with a hindle full system, SV1000 snorkel, and standard filter. Kate's written off K3 had a hindle full system, SV1000 snorkel and a standard filter. However, her ECU had been remapped. Would it be worth swapping mine with hers? How similar would our optimum fuel maps be? Also, how long does the ECU hold the map for without power? Thanks in advance! John |
Your better off getting yours remapped. No two bikes are the same.
My bike started out exactly the same spec as Steves yet the remap on mine was alot simpler than his. His fueling was way out compared to mine and mine made more power. Dont ask me why - i am not the technician but its worth getting yours done to suit your bike. |
Ok thanks Sarah.

As far as I am aware the ecu won't lose it's map when re-programmed - eprom I think. But as everyone says get your own done, mine cost me £135 12 dyno runs and about 3.5 hours money well spent I feel. BTW that was on a IL4 k4 GSXR600 NOW MAKING 110.8 AT THE REAR WHEEL AND A LOT BETTER OF THE THROTTLE. oOPS NOW I'M SHOUTING  Sticky Caps Lock Key sry

We could still give it a go though. Question, would a ECU from a K3 fit a K4?

Got to be honest idon't know, still wouldn't reccomend it though. try asking a dealer if the part numbers are the same - if they are then the base amps would be the same, that's unless they programme them at the dealer - which I doubt.
