Bike stores in Essex

Hey all, Got my CBT on friday and they say I need a pair of gloves. I've looked around a couple of local bikeshops and they all seem to sell the same stuff. Does anyone know and big stores around here that have a good range of accesories?

Cheers, Any Idea where they are in Braintree? Their website gives a postcode thats not recognised by Multimap and the rest of the address is Unit 5, Braintree :D

Go up to the A120 to braintree and head towards the Freeport, from there you *seriously* cannot miss them (roundabout before the bridge its the next turn off, ie the carwash and McDonalds)

Cheers, I'll pop in on Thursday and pick something up.

Steve

What sort of gloves are you after/cost as. Hideout leathers are also doing some good deals on Alpinestars at the moment (well a couple fo weeks ago but they may still have it on) got some GP Pro's for £85 down from the usual £120.

Texport are pretty good too but you'll need to decide if you want summer gloves or just all season ones

That's a good question and having never riden before I don't really know the answer. I don't mind spending more if the glove merits it (or just looks really cool)Problem is I don't have any other gear yet so how am I going to colour co-ordinate

I was thinking something like the Alpinestars SMX-2 as they're not too pricey so if I decide to get something else after a month of riding I won't be too fussed.

I'd normally shop around online but as I need them for Friday morning I can't afford to chance it.

The SMX and SP 2s look OK but try them on first. I always find the little finger on the right gets crushed but most decent pairs of sports/summer gloves need breaking in so don't get them too loose. The HG shop in Braintree should have a good selection but try a few makes on.

I think Alpha Motorcycles in Leigh on Sea have a fair selection.. not been there in ages though (not since I bought my bike off them 3 years ago or so)... You could have a look at their stuff online and pop over to them if you find anything suitable.

Will add to this post if i think of any more.
