curvy sv question. shake/vibe/rattle.. rev??
if im going along in second/3rd at low ish speed at lowish revs and i whack on the power it vibes and rattles like crazy send a shudder though the front of the bike
and when its ticking over it vibes that much the front wheel actualy shakes a little.. is this right? also it doesnt rev as fast compared to my m8s cbr600 are they just slow ish reving bikes? its still restricted by the way |
get the carbs ballanced, should have been done when the restrictors were put in.

If you are "whacking" on the power from low revs you are probably labouring the engine,hence excessive noise and vibration. Try knocking it down a gear and then giving it some gas.....get the revs above say 5k and it should react pretty well. If you want it to roll on well from low revs you have to wait until you can go for a very different bike in honesty.
No way is it going to be as revvy as your mates bike...err yours is a V twin remember....his has an IL4 motor. The vibes at tick over? I would get a second opinion before looking to throw cash at it. :wink: |
Tickover is probably low casuing the shake at idle, as for the pulling, drop a gear and give it some throttle

1 more thing sqweeky brakes front and back what could couse this? and some tiems the front brake vibes so much that my left hand shakes :S |

My curvey only vibrates the handlebars a little when It's being given full beans. Normally I don't notice any vibrations. When I first got the bike I used to love winding it on in a higher gear because of the roar which comes out of the pipe. I have done journeys of over 100 miles and the first thing I notice is my backside getting tired. Not vibrations.
I am sure that you shouldn't get vibrations like that. How many miles has the bike done? Mine is coming up to 5000 and the brakes are fine, but I have dismantled the calipers for a clean. I would suggest you should do this at least every 4000? miles as the pins get gunked up and sticky. and you need to clean all that up and put some copper grease on there. Quote:
