pre-load adjusters

My bike is a 2001 curvy but it has fork pre-load adjusters, i have been reading the model history section and it says pre-load adjusters were not fitted until 2002 :?

could pre-load adjusters have been fitted to a 2001 bike ? or would the forks have had to be changed also?

Any way i have fitted Hagon progressive springs and 15w oil as well as changing the bulging old brake lines and replacing with hel braided lines, only been out for one half hour to test but the front end is transformed.

The front suspension is now much better and does not dive hear as much under hard braking, the braided hoses have made a difference but not as dramatic as i thought they would be.

These are relatively cheap mod's but well worth it in my opinion.

Hagon springs and oil = £62.00, it took me and a mate about 2 hours, did not even remove the fairing just used a ratchet strap to lift and support the bike from the garage roof trusses.

Hel brake lines (3 line)= £50.00 from e-bay. brake fluid £3.50, again me and the same mate about 1 & 1/2 hours for the front, (bleeding is a bugger and much easier with 2 people) i have not fitted the rear line yet.

I am thinking my next thing will be a SRAD rear shock, plenty about but will a 30k mile 1998 SRAD shock be worth it, will it be too worn to make a difference?

the preload adjusters can indeed be fitted to earlier bikes.
