CRASH BUNGS, what and where
 

What is the best make of crash bungs/frame protectors and where is the best deals to be had.

I will be going out on the road on the 1st of May and would like them fitted beforehand,

better safe than sorry.

Again, much cheaper than R&G's & like Motosliders they come from the USA, but quick Airmail delivery - Well worth it IMHO :!:

I rate the Motosliders too, when I got mine i got a complete kit, a pair of spare bungs, and a pair of swingarm sliders all for £90 delivered to the UK. The new R&Gs are OK- I think they bend too easily but they seem reliable at least- but they're very expensive for spares. £20 a bung, £10 a bolt (and bear in mind the bolts are designed to bend, so you'll be replacing them after every mild crash) and £7 postage.

I reckon you can't beat RnGs. I've road tested them on several conditions and each time they did their job perfectly and saved the bodywork.

R & G's saved me and my friends hundeds if not thousands in low speed spils. I'm sure some people will be along to add they are good with high speed lowsides as well.

Whatever you do get use some common sense, ones like R&G either bolt through the engine or attach to strong point on the engine casing/frame. If they look flimsy or attach to a weak point on the frame then avoid them as they will probaly end up twisiting your frame or snapping off and actually increaseing the damage caused.

Got these too, had a minor low speed off (5-10 mph don't ask) and these just got a slight scuff. You might as well get the swingarm sliders that goes with them. Prompt delivery and I like the two part look of them.

R & G's on both my bikes and Liz has them on her K5.

I hope I never have to test them. The one thing in their favour IMHO is that I know from experience that ebike give you discount on your insurance premium for having R & G's. I dont think that you get discount for any other type of bung. But I could be wrong.

Moko's from PDQ (01628-667644)£80 are by far the most crash resistant on the market.

I've never like R&G's, they always bend the bolt as there's not enough support from the slider itself, but this seems to be a design feature as even in their catalogue every picture of a bike thats been down has the slider bent at 45 degrees.

I've never removed a crashed Moko that has damaged its mounting hole or even bent by any serious amount, they just wear away
