The A5 from Weston-under Lizard is an old Roman road - straight as an arrow. But there's lots of 'dead ground' - dips and rises that you can't see into/over. So overtaking can be a bit difficult. And there are a lot of minor roads joining, and if you're turning out of one you can't always see that well cos of the dead ground. Plus it's so straight that it's difficult to assess oncoming speed.

Cool road if you get it right though 8)

Yes - between Cannock & Tamworth - Watling Street.

Used to love the A5, Through Weston etc when I was unfortunate enough to live in Shropshire. Still the police down there (West Mercia) were very good to me.

AS Ed says it is those dips that cause the problem as you think the road is clear and suddenly WTF! where did he come from etc.

No it isn't that far over (well from here). It's just beyond Telford. Come out of Telford on the A5, and Weston under Lizard is about 3 - 4 miles east. Nice stately home there, Weston Park, where the V Festival is held. Stretch of road goes on till just north of Woolly Town (Wolverhampton) until the roundabout with the A449.

The locals don't speak to smelly people, neither do plod, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind :lol:

I used to live in Cannock !!!

I don't think anyone lives in Cannock now they've built the M6T through it.

I was in a pub right in the town centre !!!! and it oo a good 10 years ago.!
