SV650 dimensions..

Hi Chaps,

Im in the process of upgrading brakes on a project bike, and am interested in the front set up from an SV650, think its the K1 - older shape in yellow, around a 2000/ 2001 plate?

Anyhow, i was wondering if some kind fellow could provide me with the following dimensions:

- Size of disc

- Distance between caliper mounting bolt centres

- Distance between disc mounting hole centres, i know they are a 5 hole pattern, and id like to know the distance from one hole to the next...

If anyone could help me out id be very grateful, as im yet to stumble across a suitable subject to take the tape measure to!

Many Thanks
Steve

The front end of the SV is widely recognised to be the weakest point of the bike - Gixxer front ends are usually readily available and a much better option.

I would not recommend fitting anything from the front end (forks/brakes) of an SV.

I appreciate what your saying guys, but for the project in question they would be a great improvement and do just fine - provided they have suitable dimensions that is!...

The project in question starting life as a bike with drum brakes?

Not sure of dimensions but if no one's found out byt tomorrow we can always measure one of the bikes at SELKENT

It's going on a Supercub.

But seriously, Haggis was looking at putting the SV front end on a GSXR if I remember rightly. They're a bit backwards up there, it's the inbreeding.

You rang M'lud?

From the back of my mind, the distance from bolt centres is 55mm.

Hey, we're not backwards up here. We are Evolutionally Underwhelmed.

Close, but no cigar! - its a superdream. Pretty close to drum brakes to be honest, like i say any level of acutal functionality will be an improvement...

If someone could crack out the tape measure when convenient that would be great.

No major rush but im looking to find out within the next few days if poss...

Cheers again!!!

I believe the spacing is the same as recent GSXR, if that's any help. Though I;ve never tested that, so approach with caution.
