SV1000 vs SV650 (Its all about size not power....!)...PX?

As much as it hurts me to say it, I will have to get rid of my beloved SV. It is just too small. The riding position isn't great.. Although the only real complaint is the amount of pressure my wrists get put under (especially as one is already broken).

So I am looking at the SV1000 (Got a test ride next week).. Can anyone tell me whether it is noticably bigger than the 650. In terms of riding position and also the width of the bars?

Also if I like the thou, anyone fancy a swap for a pretty damn nice (modded pointy SK3) 650, let me know.

Cheers,

B

Can't answer your question, but have you considered working with what you have- Helibars or similiar?

$250 for Helibars... Worth considering, cheers NW.

Torn - Falco = More money than I have.

Would be nice though!

Never [-X

The thou feels pretty much like the 650, the engine pulls like a train in any gear, but carries on producing power for what seems like a lot longer, & the suspension is much better. I have found it to be quite deceptive - it looks & feels like the 650, but if I'm not careful, the speedo is reading 20-30mph faster everwhere without it feeling like it

They're basically higher clipons. Take a lot of pressure off the wrists... I've never used them but I had a similiar effect when I went from the GSXR to the TL1000S clipons- only an inch upwards but it made a big difference in comfort.

Or, there are other ways- Sun Risers, like Admin has/had (?), and Burner put flat bars on his faired, carbed model if I recall correctly- though I've not seen anything from him for ages.

None will make a massive difference, but they're an option.

A naked thou' (or indeed a naked 650 :?:) would be the way to go IMHO :!:
