Replacing used R&G bungs...
 

So, erm, if someone (not me, honest! :oops:) was in a rush and didn't put the sidestand down properly, and the bike fell over and scraped the crash bung.. but didn't bend the bolt or anything - does it need replacing?

Just wondering if it will have made the bolt weaker or anything?

Should be fine. Just check the threads are okay on the bung.

Mine survied have survvied two off so far so you should be ok.

Get the bolt out just to be sure, I was sure mine was fine but it has a wee tiny bend in. R&G sell all the bits, I suggest you buy yourself some lubricant before you phone them though ;)

mines had plenty of use! still going strong

mine didnt last after a drop similar to yours.

I just called them for a new plastic end for the old style bolt-through-the-engine crash protectors for my 01 sv. Seems they don't stock spares for them any more as they have an updated design now. They gave me a 50% discount on the new ones though so maybe if there is any damage you could go down this road (excuse the pun!)

Well one is propperly buggd! High side at Snetterton on the first corner laid waste to that one! Worked exactly as it said on the box though! NO fairing damage, scrubbed loads of speed before hitting the grass and ripping out. PM me with a modest offer, (to ease my pain!) if you want the other one (you might as well have the engine bolt and mounts too).

It's not for me,but I'll ask.Something about getting an insurance discount for fitting them,but I'd guess they need to be "servicable".
