Long Mornings - Extra Time
Ya know, i never realised just how long mornings at work were when i smoked. I guess all thoses cigs meant that it went quicker.
Now im not smoking, i just looked at the clock.. JUST passed 11.30.. GROAN! C'mon time.. get to 1pm, i want my lunch! |
Keep at it mate - you are doing good.
After the first few days you will be amazed how quickly you have forgotten to be a smoker. The real danger time is after a few months when the devil on your shoulder will tell you that a little puff at a party will be fine......... |
I gave up about 30 years ago, I’m now one of those real anti smoking people, you know
the boring ones. . I watched my AP take six months to die with lung cancer, when he was told he had only six months to live, he cried his eyes out. Just a couple of things……the danger time is four to eight months after you quit. Also, heart attacks are hitting people between the ages of 42 and 46, which means the average man or woman don’t see their children get married. All I can say is…..go for it , dig your heels in and good luck. You know when your winning when you smell a smoker.. |
Same thing happened to me at work when i quit for about a year (smoking again now though  ).
Do what my boss told me: just because you're not smoking doesn't mean you're not entitled to a break. Still go for a break at the same time as you used to, only instead of smoking, do something else e.g. walk to the nearest newsagent & buy a can of pop or something. It helps a lot cos it still breaks up the day and you don't really notice a major change in your routine at work. HTH |
